(AP) Ted McKnight scored two touchdowns, including a 70-yard burst in the final quarter, and Kansas City's fuzzy- cheeked defense stymied Baltimore quarterback Bert Jones Sunday to give the Chiefs a 14-0 victory over the Colts in the National Football League opener for both teams. Falcons 40, Saints 34 NEW ORLEANS (AP) Reserve running back James Mayberry picked up a desperation pass after a snap on a punt sailed over the head of Russell Erxleben and ran it in for a touchdown nine minutes into sudden death overtime to give the Atlanta Falcons a 40- 34 National Football League victory over the New Orleans Saints Sunday. Vikings 28, 49ers 22 BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) Tommy Kramer fired four secondhalf touchdown passes to Ahmad Rashad, including a controversial 25- yarder with 17 seconds to play, to rally Minnesota to a 28-22 National Football League victory over San Francisco in the regular season opener for both clubs. With San Francisco leading 82-21 and the Vikings holding the ball at the 49ers 25-yard line, Kramer hit Rashad over the middle at the 15-yard line.

Rashad was hit by Tim Gray and appeared to fumble at the 2-yard mark, but Sammy White recovered the ball in the end zone for what the Vikings thought was the winning touchdown. Referee Jerry Markbreit later reversed the decision, however, saying Rashad was into the end zone when the fumble occurred.
