Assistant Principals - Achieve Academy (2024)

I am beginning my 31st year in education. I started my educational career as a history teacher and girls' athletic coordinator at Sam Houston Middle School in Garland, Texas. After 8 years, I went to Naaman Forest High School as an Assistant Principal. I was there for 11 years before moving to Garland High School for a year. In 2013, I moved to Frisco High School as the Associate Principal. I did that for 2 years before coming home to Wylie. Prior to coming to Achieve, I was at Wylie East as an Assistant Principal and Associate Principal. I am excited and honored to work at Achieve Academy this year and look forward to a wonderful 2023-2024 school year.

I attended the University of North Texas, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and my Master of Education degrees in 1993. I completed my Principal Certification in 2001 from Texas A&M Commerce.

I have been married to my husband Patrick for 28 years. He is campus security at Wylie High School. We have three sons. Jordan is a graduate of SMU, where he was captain of the football team for 2 years. He is the Varsity football secondary and track coach at Wylie East High School. Jared is a graduate of New Mexico State University, where he was part of the NMSU football team. He is the Varsity football secondary and track coach at Wylie High School. Joseph is a senior at Wylie East. He plays football and basketball and runs track. My favorite pastimes include hanging out with my family and watching sports.

I am excited to be a new part of the Achieve family! I am looking forward to getting to know our students and families.

This is my 21st year in education. I began teaching in 1997 in Richardson ISD where I taught 1st and 4th grades. I have been a part of the Wylie ISD family since 2005. During my time in Wylie ISD, I served as a 4th grade classroom teacher and a campus administrator.

I earned my Associate of Science Degree at Southwestern Christian College (Terrell), my Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Woman’s University (Denton), and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University (Dallas). I hold certifications in Elementary Education Grades K-6, Early Childhood, and Principal Leadership.

I have been married to my amazing husband, John, since 1997 and we have three wonderful children. We have lived in Wylie since 2002.

I believe our students are like wet cement, and as educators we have a tremendous opportunity to make an impression upon them. I aim to make mine a positive one! It is going to be a great school year!
